Surgery Suite

We LOVE our recent addition of the surgery suite. The biggest appeal to having a room solely devoted to surgery is to ensure cleanliness and sterilization. The animals are prepped and shaved as much as possible outside of the room and then wheeled into the sterile field for final prepping. The veterinarians and technicians have special clothing and footwear that are only worn in this room and once they are in the room, they don't leave until everything has been completed. The fancy glass shelves in between the surgery and x-ray rooms allow for someone to pass any odd materials that may be needed unexpectedly. It also eliminates unnecessary foot traffic and distractions around those performing the surgery. In addition to the room, we also have a separate wash area for those going into surgery to properly wash and sanitize.
